July 30, 2006 2:34 AM So my Dad told me a long time ago that China used to have huge treasure fleets that sailed as far away as East Africa gaining huge amounts of knowledge and wealth from trade. Then on a whim the emperor decided to disband the fleet and destroy all the knowledge gained by the exploits of the treasure fleet. This was around 1418. Merchants and sailors who tried disobeyed the emperor will killed. Very short sighted. Basically scientific discovery was stifled due to one person. Because of this, when Vasco De Gama reached India 80 years later, there was nothing to oppose the Europeans. Which eventually resulted in European domination of most of Asia for the following centuries. The Admiral of the Fleet was Zheng He, here's his wiki. Interesting stuff... it was thought that he actually had travelled as far away as Australia, during his 7 voyages. The moral of the story... Bush should stop being a stupid fuckhead and ok the money for stem cell research... July 30, 2006 2:34 AM Hey! My webpage has been around for 2 years... bitching! Though I know I suck... I don't post as often anymore. July 30, 2006 2:00 AM Well haven't posted in a while, just been really busy from work and pretty tired. UGH... well hopefully it all pays off. Helped Rahul load up a Uhaul today as he's moving out to the city. Rahul was waxing nostalgic about moving out of his place that he's been at for 5 years. Reminds me of when we moved out of 2610 back in the day. If fun to think about the stuff we used to do back at 2610. Eating watermelon on the porch on a hot summer night and throwing the rinds in the street. Peeing into the bushes off the back porch when someone was in the bathroom. laying down in the middle of the street to watch the meteor shower constantly watching for cars... Hanging out with Matt making dirty watching tv... lots and lots of tv... Sarah watching tv in the closet... hahaha hahaha ahhh... good times.. good times... So I'm heading out to Colorado tomorrow to go start up manufacturing.... sweet.. see ya'll in a week.
Never been to Colorado before... |
